Centre for the synthesis
and analysis of biodiversity

A centre created and developed by the FRB

Bruno Fady is a population geneticist and ecologist who specializes in Mediterranean forest ecosystems. His scientific interests span several scientific fields, from tree breeding to conservation of rare and threatened forest tree species. His current research activities are focused on the effect of natural and man-made processes on the genetic and phenotypic variability of Mediterranean woody species at different biogeographic scales. Bruno Fady is also active at the cross-roads between science and society. He is a member of the European program for the conservation of forest genetic resources (EUFORGEN) and its French counterpart (CRGF) where he actively contributes to integrating genetic diversity and evolutionary considerations into forest management and policy. Bruno Fady is senior scientist at INRA Avignon (France), where he leads the "Population Biology and Evolution" group of the Ecology of Mediterranean Forests research laboratory (URFM).
